Communication Connections is owned and directed by Catherine Coleman, and has been helping clients improve their communication for over 20 years.

Catherine Coleman, M.S. CCC-SLP

Catherine is a former George Washington University Clinical Supervisor and Adjunct Professor. Classes taught by Catherine were Voice and Diction, Language Disorders and Development, Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing, Augmentative and Alternative Communication methods, and a weekly clinical seminar.

Catherine believes that families play a crucial role in the therapeutic process. Families are always encouraged to join in therapy sessions when appropriate and typically receive a full explanation why certain therapies are used and how these can be reinforced in the home environment.

Catherine specializes in the treatment of Apraxia, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Swallowing disorders, language intervention, and IEP advocacy.

Catherine lives in Warrenton, Virginia.

Brittany Chovanec, Tutor

Brittany Chovanec is a former Fauquier County Public Schools Special Education teacher. Teaching children is a passion of hers and she specializes in using a multi-sensory approach to target the needs of her students. She is trained in Orton-Gillingham's IMSE and Lindamood-Bell’s reading programs. She integrates Standards of Learning (SOL) objectives, social-emotional goals and IEP goals into sessions, individually tailored to each student.
